Awards were presented to winners of the Otways Tourism 3rd annual photographic competition, on 30 October 2010.
WINNERS
The 2010 Winner was Wayne Bradbury with a stunning picture of the beach at Apollo Bay.
Wayne received a trophy and a cash prize of $700. He also took out several other prizes. Congratulations Wayne.

2010 WINNER AWARDS

There were over $6,000 worth of prizes awarded at the Colac Performing Arts Centre (COPAC) in Colac attended by 60 photographic enthusiasts on Sat 30 October 2010. The shortlisted images are on display at COPAC until mid November.
A bonus to the awards day was an engaging presentation on world photography by Sheldon Muller and an inspiring view of monochrome entries from the recent Vigex interneational competition.
The awards afternoon was followed by a local dinner and a workshop the following day at Tarnwarndcoort near Colac, led by Shelton. Overall a feast for photographic photo buffs.

Overview of the 2010 Competition
The competition was open to all. Entries were digital, and could be taken any time in the period July 2009 to the closing date - 30 July 2010.
As encouragement to high quality photography in the Otways Tourism region, all shots are taken within the highly attractive Colac Otway Shire, which includes the most spectacular part of the Great Ocean Road. See the map showing the area and some places of interest.
PRIZES
There were a valuable set of prizes including a total of $3500 in cash, and over $2500 worth of tourism prizes such as accommodation. Best in competition was awarded a cash prize of $700.

Judging is carried out in accordance with usual photographic society guidelines.

Wet Wet Wet . 
|
If the image contains water of any description then it should be entered into this category.
|
Take a Hinter .  |
If the image contains bushland, forest, flora, trees, parkland, farmland or dwellings and does not contain water then it should be entered into this category.
|
Feathers Fur and Fins.  |
If the image contains birds, animals or marine life (regardless of water) then it should be entered into this category.
|
Out There! .  |
Creative, no limits - except some part of images must be easily recognised subjects captured within the Colac Otway Shire boundary. Can be digitally enhanced to maximise effect.

Show the World .  |
If your image has been loaded onto Google Maps or Panoramio then it can be entered into this category. More on Panoramio.
|
Eventful Otways .  |
If the image was taken at one of the Otway events then it should be entered into this category regardless of water, bush or animals. |
Great Ocean Road .  |
Any “scape” or aspect of tourism interest taken from any point along the Great Ocean Road but must be within the Colac Otway Shire boundary. Does not include Lorne or the 12 Apostles. |
Great Ocean Walk .  |
Any “scape” or aspect of tourism interest taken from any point along the Great Ocean Walk but must be within the Colac Otway Shire boundary. |

Cape Otway LightStn .
|
The lighthouse, surrounding buildings or anything of tourism interest captured within the Cape Otway Lightstation boundaries. |
Otway Fly .  |
The treetop walk, dinosaur walk, bungee trampoline, abseiling, or anything of tourism interest captured within the Otway Fly boundaries. |
Junior .  |
The Junior section is for entrants aged under 18 at the closing date. Can enter all categories, but there is one separate prize for best junior entry and runner up. |
All Categories - common limitations

Note carefully. Images must be captured within the Colac Otway Shire boundary. Can include people (encouraged). Can be digitally enhanced however the sense of the real world must be retained. (The 'Out There' category has no enhancement limitations). |
Judging Criteria 2010
Judges were looking for striking pictures that best articulate the theme, combined with creativity and technical excellence. Consideration was also be given to entries with a strong identity that show people taking part in the experience illustrated.
